Sitting in with a band is the surest way to become a more confident singer, and it is so much fun!
Join us for this 3-hour skill-building workshop with vocalist Pamela Rose, guitarist Garth Webber, and drummer Daria Johnson, where you’ll learn the specific skills needed to confidently sit in with a band and sing with complete abandon. You’ll learn how to begin and end tunes, communicate different rhythms to the band, and “sculpt” an arrangement on the fly while singing with the band.
After the workshop, students are encouraged to stay for the Blues Open Mic at the school starting at 5 pm, where they can put their new skills into practice and enjoy a fun evening of music.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from two experienced musicians and take your singing to the next level!
Some understanding of basic blues theory is recommended.
