About Jimmy Grant

Hailing from Northern California, Jimmy Grant’s musical journey began in a home steeped in diverse influences, ultimately finding his muse in the melodies of Django Reinhardt. Mentored by guitar virtuosos Jim Nichols and Howard Alden, Grant’s repertoire spans from Reinhardt to Bach, Benny Goodman, and Joe Pass. He’s graced stages alongside luminaries like David Grisman and Gonzalo Bergara, showcasing his talent at prestigious festivals including Djangofest Northwest and The Savannah Music Festival. Beyond performance, Grant is a dedicated educator, sharing his knowledge at festivals and through “Gypsy Jazz Secrets Magazine.” With two albums to his name and collaborations across jazz and rock, his original composition “Insomnia” was a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition’s jazz category.
