In this workshop, you’ll learn a powerful method of listening that will help you both “pick out” specific instruments from the mix and hear how all the parts work together. You can use these essential ear training skills in rehearsal, on stage, practicing, composing, recording, transcribing, and simply enjoying a piece of music. In this workshop, you can expect your ears to grow!

Open to all instrumentalists and vocalists.

Prerequisites: none.

Technical requirements: strong Internet connection recommended; wired headphones (not earbuds).

About Jennifer Jolly

Jennifer Jolly teaches keyboard classes and ensembles (Caribbean, African, New Orleans, improv, and more) at the CJC, clinics, camps, after-school programs, and her private studio. She performs and guests with Jennifer Jolly & Friends, Pamela Rose’s “Blues is a Woman,” Zulu Spear, Kotoja, Tom Rigney & Flambeau, Chelle! & Friends, JAZZphoria, Mo’Fone, The Party Monsters, Bait & Switch Blues Band, Big B & His Snake Oil Saviors, The Jolly Gibsons, Creekside Church Worship Band, and others. She performs as lead and accompanist primarily on keyboards and melodica, with guitar, vocals, and congas/percussion as secondary instruments.
