In-person with real live instrumentalists! This class will help you build confidence in a live performance setting. Bring in all those songs you’ve sung or wanted to sing over the pandemic years but have only been able to take out for a stroll with iRealPro. This class will focus on bandstand essentials for vocalists, including creating a solid chart, communicating with instrumentalists clearly and collaboratively, creating simple arrangements, experimenting with style/feel, and basic approaches to improvisation. Bring your favorite charts or select tunes from the instructor’s list of 200+ professional lead sheets (transposed to any key). Students will be accompanied by a professional pianist during weeks 1 through 6, with a full rhythm section (add bass/drums) joining for weeks 7 through 10. Open to all.
