Marcos Silva is a highly accomplished multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and esteemed educator whose talents have taken him across the globe. With a Grammy nomination to his name, he has graced stages worldwide, touring alongside renowned artists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Bud Shank, and Dori Caymmi, among others. For an impressive 23 years, Marcos served as the musical director for Flora Purim and Airto Moreira. His exceptional abilities led him to write arrangements for Dizzy Gillespie’s band, and he took on the role of arranger-composer for Airto’s Spiritual Mass in Germany, following in the footsteps of the legendary Gil Evans. Marcos is also a sought-after producer, having worked on numerous albums, including two of his own. As the head of the Brazilian Music Department at the California Jazz Conservatory, he imparts his vast knowledge and expertise to aspiring musicians. With an illustrious career spanning multiple facets of music, Marcos Silva continues to leave an indelible mark on the global music scene.
